From BlackOps Archive, the independent reference

Step-by-step pages covering safe access to BlackOps Market, verification of BlackOps onion mirrors, PGP use and escrow. For background, see the main article.

The guides below are short, practical companions to the encyclopedia articles. They are written for a reader who already understands what BlackOps Market is and wants to avoid the common mistakes: opening an onion link outside Tor, trusting a prefix match, finalising early, or entering credentials on an unverified mirror.

01Guide

Tor Browser setup for BlackOps onion links

Download Tor Browser only from the Tor Project. Keep the security level at Safer or Safest; BlackOps Market works without JavaScript. Never install extensions or resize the window manually — fingerprinting protections depend on the default window size.

Paste a mirror from the BlackOps onion mirrors page into the address bar. Expect 10–40 seconds for a v3 service to connect. If the circuit fails, use New Tor circuit for this site before trying a backup mirror.

02Guide

Importing and trusting the BlackOps PGP key

Obtain the market key through two independent routes. Import it, record the full fingerprint and compare it character by character with the second source. Only then mark the key as trusted in your keyring.

Verify the canary: save the signed message, run the verification, and confirm that the signing key fingerprint matches what you recorded. A Good signature from an untrusted or unknown key is not verification.

03Guide

Encrypting a message to a vendor

Copy the vendor's public key from their BlackOps profile, import it, and encrypt the shipping details locally before pasting the ciphertext into the order form. Never rely on the market's built-in encryption option alone.

Include only what the vendor needs. Do not sign the message with your own key unless the vendor requires it, since a signature permanently links the message to your identity.

04Guide

Reading an escrow status

BlackOps orders pass through awaiting payment → paid → shipped → finalised (or disputed). Funds remain in escrow until finalisation. The finalise early option transfers funds immediately and removes your protection.

If a vendor requests FE, consider it a risk signal unless they have a long record. Open a dispute before the auto-finalise timer expires if the order has not arrived.

05Guide

Evaluating a vendor profile

Check the number of completed orders, the ratio of disputes to sales, the age of the account and whether the PGP key has changed. Read the most recent feedback first — a vendor's standing can change quickly.

Cross-check the vendor name on other markets and forums. Imitation of well-known vendor names is a common tactic on new markets.

06Guide

Recognising a BlackOps phishing clone

Compare the full 56-character hostname with the canary — a matching blackops prefix proves nothing. Check for your anti-phishing phrase after login and be suspicious of any request to re-enter a PGP key or make a deposit before account access.

If you suspect you logged in to a clone, change your password and 2FA key from a verified mirror immediately and warn others in the market's forum thread. See Phishing clones.
